Antique Gilt Metal Adjustable Standard Lamp
Good example of an early to mid 20th Century gilded standard lamp. It has a heavy marble or alabaster base set on four gilt paws with applied gilt decoration. A slender fluted column supports the lamp with a central bulbous ring. The top part of the lamp is extendable and is secured in place by a decorative screw.
It has been rewired to modern standards to take a standard bayonet bulb and is in working order with a valid PAT test certificate. The shade and bulb are not included.
The lamp is in good condition with some minor signs of age and use and the gilded paint has worn slightly in places but nothing detrimental. It is strong and sturdy and displays beautifully.
