18th Century Oak Dresser Base
A good example of a large georgian oak dresser base dating from the late 18th Century. It stands on cabriole front legs with three drawers, each with brass plate handles. There are an additional 5 small spice drawers along the top of the base, each with a small brass ring pull handle.
It is in good condition throughout and displays beautifully. It is not without some signs of age and use and minor stains and marks but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. It has been well maintained and as such there have been some historical repairs over the years, particularly to note are the new back legs but it is now a good sturdy piece. The drawers are generally clean and tidy inside and open well. The handles have been changed at some point but they suit the dresser well. It has been given a thorough clean and light wax and polish is ready for the home.
