Georgian Oak Potboard Dresser
Superb example of a period oak dresser dating from the late 18th / early 19th century, most likely originating from Wales. The base has five drawers arranged as three over two with a curved apron below the middle drawer. It is set on turned front legs with an open potboard base. The rack has an arrangement of three graduating open shelves with plate grooves.
It is in good condition throughout and is a clean sturdy piece of furniture. It is not without some signs of age and use but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are some light marks on the top surface and good honest repairs to the back legs but no major damages. The drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy inside. The handles have been changed but have been on there a long time and suit the piece well. It has been well maintained and has been given a thorough clean and light wax and is ready for the home.
