Victorian Walnut Canterbury
A lovely mid-Victorian walnut Canterbury with three divisions separated by turned spindles. It has a single drawer below with its original turned knobs and dovetail joints. It stands on four bulbous turned legs with its original white ceramic castors. It is a good quality piece with ornate fretwork carved panels and turned finials. The wood has a beautiful colour and grain.
It is in good condition for its age and it strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some knocks, minor splits and small chips and some old repaired cracks in the fretwork but nothing detrimental. There are some signs of historic woodworm which has all been treated as a precaution and overall it displays well and is certainly a usable piece.
