Georgian Oak Potboard Dresser
Superb example of a period oak dresser dating from the late 18th / early 19th century. The base has three drawers set on turned front legs with an open potboard base. It has an oak plate rack with pine shelves, each with a plate groove and many of its original blacksmith-made hooks.
It is in good condition throughout and is a clean sturdy piece of furniture. It is not without some signs of age and use, small knocks and marks here and there but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. The brass handles are not original but have been on there a long time and suit the piece well. There are some old signs of worm here and there which have all been treated as a precaution and a couple of old repairs to the bottom of the back legs which had worn over time. The drawers all run smoothly and are generally clean and tidy. It has been well maintained and has been given a thorough clean and gentle wax and is ready for the home.
