Antique 'Spelling Alphabet'
A lovely set of spelling letters dating from the late 19th Century, originally used as a teaching aid for young children learning their alphabet and spelling. The letters are made of bone (cow/bovine) and there are 51 in total - a complete set of 26 plus another set, complete except for the A. The letters measure approximately 13/14mm high.
The whole set is in very good condition. There are no major damages to any of the tiles and just some minor discolouration and marks on a few pieces.
The set comes in a small wooden pot with a threaded lid. Probably not original to the set but they have certainly been kept in it for some time.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
