18th Century Oak Chest of Drawers
A lovely oak chest of drawers dating from the late 18th Century. They are a simple country design with four long graduated drawers, each with brass swan neck handles and brass escutcheons. They have plain oak sides and stand on four square legs with a moulded edge above. They have a beautiful rich patination and a good country look.
There are the usual signs of wear and age, some marks and knocks and minor shrinkage splits in the sides and top but nothing detrimental or untoward for a chest of this age. The drawers are made of pine planks internally which have slightly shrunk over the years but they are generally clean and tidy. The chest is strong and sturdy and overall they're a good quality set that displays very well. They have been cleaned and gently polished and are ready for use.
