Antique Oak Pedestal Writing Desk
A beautiful oak writing desk dating from around 1900. It has 9 drawers arranged around a central kneehole, each with a small wooden knob. The top of the desk is inset with a good quality light green leather writing surface with gold tooling. The desk stands on small ceramic castors and splits into three pieces so is easy to move and transport.
The desk is in good condition for its age and has been well looked after. It has a lovely warm patina and the oak has mellowed to a plesant colour over time. The drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy inside. The leather surface is in good order with some signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. There are some normal light signs of age and use, some surface scratches, knocks and minor old splits but nothing detrimental or untoward. The desk has been cleaned and polished and displays beautifully and is ready for use.
