Georgian Mahogany Lowboy
A superb mahogany lowboy dating from the mid to late 18th century. It stands on square chamfered legs with a wonderful carved fretwork frieze below the drawers. Each drawer has inlaid banding and its original brass swan neck handles.
It is in excellent original condition with a beautiful rich patina. The table is strong and sturdy and the drawers open well. There are a few marks and stains on the top and general signs of age and use. There are a few small chips to the cock beading, a small old split across a piece of fretwork and some old minor splits in one side but nothing detrimental or untoward. There has been some old worm in the base of one drawer which has been treated as a precaution.
Width : 31 1/2" / 80cm
Depth : 19" / 48cm
Height : 29" / 74cm
The table has been cleaned and given a light polish and is ready for use. The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
