Antique Electric Shock Therapy Machine
A fantastic electric shock machine dating from the end of the Victorian Era, contained in its original wooden box with both of its original brass probes. There is a wooden winding handle which attaches to the front of the box and turns the gilt wheel inside. There is a large magnet in the box which induces the current. On each side of the box are terminals where the metal probes would be connected.
Approximate Measurements :
Height of box : 4 1/2" (11cm)
Width : 10" (26cm)
Depth : 4 1/2" (11cm)
I have not attempted to test the machine as far as whether it generates a shock as there are no wires on the probes so it is being sold as seen. However I can confirm that all the parts move as they should. It is in good condition for its age. The box has picked up some scuffs and knocks over the years but nothing major. One loop is missing from the connector terminal and I think the end knob of the adjustment art has been replaced.
