I believe it dates from the early 20th Century. It has certainly been well used and well loved. It is in good original condition - the only point to note is that there is a small split in the wood on the back of his head (see last photo). I don't think it detracts from the overall appeal and it certainly doesn't detract from its ability to display beautifully or its functionality.
