Primitive Slab Top Butcher's Block
A superb 19th Century pig table or butcher's block. The solid slab top is made from a single piece of wood which stands on four later made oak legs. The top has a wonderfully worn patina showing many years of use. The wood is gnarly and scored with many knife marks, making it wonderfully sculptural. It has suffered from wood worm over the years but this has all been treated as a precaution and isn't detrimental.
The whole piece is strong and sturdy, making it an ideal lamp or side table but also of course as a chopping block in a kitchen.
