Antique Apprentice-Made Chest of Drawers

A lovely miniature mahogany chest of drawers, dating from the mid 19th Century. It is a charming piece with two short over three long drawers, graduating in size, each with their original turned knobs. The chest itself is made from mahogany with a pine back and pine lined drawers. It stands on a traditional plinth base. It is well made and each drawer is beautifully made with hand-cut dovetail joints.

It is in good original condition. The mahogany has a wonderful aged patina and the piece is sturdy and the joints are strong. It has retained all of its original knobs and the interior of the drawers are generally clean and tidy. There are no keys for the locks and there are some general signs of age and use and minor knocks and a small chip on the back edge of the top but overall it displays very well.
