Georgian Mahogany Tallboy
A fine example of a late 18th Century mahogany Tallboy. This impressive piece is in good original condition with its original brass handles. It is well balanced and quite simple in design and the whole piece sits on bracket feet. The lower section contains two large deep drawers and the top section contains two short over three long graduated drawers. The top section comes off to split into two to make transport easier.
The whole piece is in good condition. It is sturdy and the oak lined drawers are generally clean and tidy and all run well, many having had internal runners replaced or repaired. There are no signs of worm and it has developed a beautiful patina with a deep rich colour. It has been well maintained over the years and as such has some small repairs to the veneer in places and an old split along the top (see photos) but nothing major. There are some minor signs of age and use and some small surface marks but nothing detrimental. It displays beautifully.
