Cold Painted Hunting Group
Beautiful miniature cold painted figures of huntsmen, horses and hounds dressed in traditional hunting attire. There are no marks that I can see on any of the pieces however I believe they would be Austrian in origin and are likely to date from the late 19th Century.
The group is split into 5 individual pieces. There are two horses with riders, there is one standing rider with two dogs at his side and then three separate groups of hound dogs - 6 in a semi circle, 4 looking to the side and a further 2 standing. They can be arranged in all sorts of different ways and they just look stunning together.
They are a miniature size with the rider on horseback being just 1 1/2" tall and the dogs are only 1/2" long.
They display beautifully and have a really lovely look to them however they are showing some signs of age and wear and tear. There are some small flakes of paint coming off here and there on the figures and there are some small damages. The pictures give a very good description of condition but it is worth noting that the standing rider has an arm missing, one horse has a lower part of its back leg missing, a dog in the group of four has his tail broken and a standing dog in the large group has a front leg missing.
Please have a good look at all the photos and if you have any questions at all please ask.
