Technical Drawing Set
Superb example of a complete early 20th Century technical drawing set contained within its original fitted leather case. The set contains 14 individual instruments plus a ruler stored behind the lining of the lid. All of the instruments are original and of the highest quality. They are made of steel and some have a turned bone (cow / bovine) handle.
The case is covered in moroccan red leather with a central white metal plaque on the lid. The plaque is not engraved and so could be if so desired. The fitted interior is lined with blue velvet and the lid is lined with blue silk emblazoned with the gold W.H Harling logo which reads "W.H.Harling. Mathematical Instrument Manufacturer. 47 Finsbury Pavement. London" below an armorial coat of arms.
Length : 7 1/2" (19cm)
Width : 6" (15cm)
Height : 1" (2.5cm)
The whole set is in good original condition and displays beautifully. It has obviously been well looked after and all the instruments are in good condition with their original pins and adjustment screws. There is some minor corrosion on some of the metal parts but nothing detrimental. The leather case has some wear and light scuffs around the corners and a slight warp in the lid when pressed shut but nothing major.
The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.
