Chad Valley Clockwork Racing Car
Good example of a scarce tinplate racing car manufactured by Chad Valley in the early to mid 20th Century. It has a tinplate body with a clockwork motor. The tail fin is marked 'Chad Valley' and the body is marked 'Chad Valley. Harborne. No.10003'. It is decorated in a red and cream colour scheme with grey tyres and swirled hub caps.
I do not have a key for it but I have tested the clockwork motor and it runs very well.
Length : 11 1/2" (29cm)
Width : 3 1/2" (9cm)
Height : 3" (8cm)
It is in good condition for its age and displays very nicely. There are some minor scratches and scuffs on the body and some dirty marks on the paint which may come off when cleaned but I wouldn't want to damage the paintwork. There are some minor dinks but nothing detrimental. It would have originally had a small cut-out driver which is missing now.
