Antique Coin Scales

19th Century

Lovely set of balance beam scales dating from the early Victorian period. The frame is made of steel and the pans are brass, suspended by thick green cord. The scales come in their original tin box in which they fold away neatly into. The box is a small rounded pebble shape to fit into a pocket. There are also two brass weights with the scales that sit in holders within the case.

The whole set is in good original condition and displays very nicely. The cord is in good condition with no fraying. The steel and brass has tarnished over time but this has given the scales a lovely aged patina. The case has a few small dinks and marks as to be expected but nothing major.

Approximate Measurements :
Length of beam : 4" (10cm)
Diameter of pan : 1 1/2" (4cm)
